no dvd drive

hi i was wondering if anyone could instruct me on a way to make cod5 play without the disk. i am not looking for an exe or a patch, but i would like to change a registry key or maybe alter a file? anyone know if this is possible plz help!

I don't think that is possible without a patch or steam. If you have Xfire, list it here and you may be able to receive broader help and continue melting phaces.

Maybe it's possible with an image and a virtual drive. I don't think you can simply make it happen with altering the registry or a file. Or you must be referring to the main .exe which comes close to illegally running it. (All games use .exes to run their game and in most cases that's the place where you'll have to look for playing without a disk. Exe files usually have some lines which look for the CD/DVD being on its place, and sometimes files closely related to the exe are doing that part).

Anyway my guess is that you'll have to search either for a altered .exe or must mount some sort of virtual image.
