WaW sound help? Empty WaW sound help?

Post by JacobTurner Mon Jan 13, 2014 4:00 am

First off sorry if this is in the wrong section. I saw some other threads that were help related so I put it here. Anyway my problem is, is that some of my sound does not play. I can hear when I shoot or call in uav or dogs. But when someone else shoots I cannot hear it. Here is a short video showing the audio problem. https://youtu.be/a_3IT7zMpZI If anyone has anything that you think may work, I will try it.

What I have tried:
Updating sound drivers - didnt work
Running game in windowed with noborder - didnt work
Verifying integrity of game cache - didnt work
Checking the sound setting to make sure there all up - didnt work

Alrighty. This is going to be a difficult one as CoDWaW is known for having sound issues. However, there should be some fixes for it. Could you post the operating system you have (Windows XP, Win7 64, etc.), if you have a sound card or just regular onboard audio, speakers and how many, and just some general things in that area. I don't know if this would help, but you can take a look:

Sorry for not displaying that information.

I am running windows 7 64 bit. Here is a picture of the sounds in device manager http://gyazo.com/ffe954c45f4991cf289d4e25ebe06890

WaW sound help? Ffe954c45f4991cf289d4e25ebe06890

The only thing I can see that would use PC speakers is Realtek Audio. I also see Intel Display Audio which seems to be indicating that sound would be coming from the monitor/screen's built in speakers. I'm not sure what AMD HD Audio is for and there's a headset in use. Do you have actual speakers? Also, did that video provide any useful information to you?

No the video didn't help. Yes I do have speakers, but I use my headset 90% of the time and the speakers are always off. I don't think my monitor has built in speakers. Thanks for your help so far.

Can you try your speakers out just for this? Also, if you aren't using TV/monitor audio, you can right-click display and disable 'Intel Display Audio' as it isn't needed.

Don't know if this will help:

A user in that topic says only certain sounds are playing

Thank you so much! It works fine now, I can hear everything. I disabled my headset and played the sound out of my speakers. That seemed to fix the problem. So it has to be something to do with my headset, but since I don't play with any clan I can just use my speakers. So thanks I really appreciate it!

My headset works now! After I disconnected it and ran the sound out of my speakers, it seemed to work. So a few hours later I got on with a few of my friends and plugged in my headset and it works. Maybe something was just messed up in the config. But it seems to be working atm, so glad one of your members said to come here and ask.
