New Field Of View (FOV) Option For WaW - Details Inside
Field of view in video games
Field of view in video games (or simply field of vision, abbreviated FOV) is the extent of the observable game world that is seen on the display at any given moment. It is typically measured as an angle, although whether this angle is the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal component of the field of view varies from game to game.
The FOV in a video game may change depending on the aspect ratio of the rendering resolution. In computer games and modern game consoles the FOV normally increases with a wider aspect ratio of the rendering resolution.

Low FOV and illness
Including peripheral vision, the visual field of the average person is approximately 170-180 degrees. In PC games the FOV usually is around 90 to 100 degrees. In console games the FOV usually is around 60 degrees or less. With very low FOV it can feel like one is looking through binoculars.[4]
Many PC games that are released after 2000 are ported from consoles. Console games are usually played on a TV while PC games usually are played on computer monitors, which is the reason for the different choice of FOV. Often the developer doesn't change FOV, but uses the same low FOV for the PC and console version. While console gamers using TVs generally won't notice the binocular effect, low FOVs become increasingly nauseating for some the closer the players are to the screen. For PC gamers who generally use monitors, low FOVs can make games physically uncomfortable to play. It creates a feel of disorientation which can make the gamer feel dizzy.

The default FOV options range from 65 to 80. The new feature bumps 80 to 90, so if you are already at 80, you will get FOV 90. If you want the default 80 or below back, you can follow below.
In console, these are the FOV commands:
Type /cg_fov 80 to get FOV 90
Type /cg_fov 70 to get FOV 80
Type /cg_fov 65 to get FOV 75
The positives are that more can be seen in a scene, especially for widescreen monitors and is good for people who have FOV sicknesses.
The negatives are it can seem like there's more speed than normal due to the view and it also may make knifing difficult to judge.
A lot of people like higher FOVs in video games. If your FOV is default 65 and you are ok with it, then you won't need change anything. If your FOV was 80 and you feel it's weird or hard to adjust to (like me at times), set it to 70 or lower with the description above. The feature was done this way to keep players from having something permanent that they might not want, so it's optional.
