How did you get your ingame name?
I recall myself playing a few rounds of WAW yesterday, and seeing a pretty interesting name (cant remember it right now sadly), and I thought to myself "how the heck did he come up with that?"
So I got the idea to ask how you guys ended up with the name you use here.
I can start with myself:
"Rantanrave" is the latest (and probably last) name in a long list of names, I have used when playing games for the last 13 years or so.
My first online name was "Miggi" (inspired by "Mickey" from Mickey Mouse). I quickly changed to several other names, which has been long forgotten by me. I eventually started calling myself 'Firestorm' (from Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun: Firestorm), but found it too smililar to many other players' names, and later changed it to "Deaddiablo". This was from back when I played Diablo 2, and I died so often that my friends called me "Dead in Diablo", and this name stuck with me for about 3 years I think.
One day I played a new game, and was promted to choose a name. I found myself being tired of my other names, and tried to figure out a shiny new one.
For some reason "Rantanrave" eventually came out of that thinking session (about 6-7 years ago now probably), and I don't plan on changing it ever again. I feel like I have found the name that suits me perfectly.
So, how did you come to end up with your names guys?

Re: How did you get your ingame name?
Hehe interesting topic . My first and most recognizable name was OMEGA545454. The creator of this nick was my cousin (tyka_pl) in one of his ps3 account where i started my adventure with cod5. I was using that account with that name. When I switched to cod5 in pc i moved that name also with me because i felt that it belongs to me now and suits me . When I joined PDE I modernized and shortened it at the request of Mike to OM3GA_.
I have also other names like:
OneShot_Kill - modeled on an ps3 player's name who taught me how to qs with ptrs (One_Shot__Kill aka g51111_ aka gekkenaaier (on pc gekk52))
HoloGhostMan - taken from my lags on previous PC which makes me sometimes hard to hit for others.

Heh. dont know if I should write my story cos its so boring. Oh well since I already started. You see...my mother meet this guy and his name was Jano...so they named they firstborn, Jano as well and that is not really the best idea, because I always have to ask who are the people looking for when they say the name, or to whoom is a letter send and so on.... But since I already had the name....and got used to it I wont be changing it.

My first names had a "bunny" in it, a tribute to one of most harmless, fluffy, fuzzy-wuzzy creatures of god:
Other than that, they come from music. My current ones are from "The Fountain" soundtrack, and from an old Danish folk song.

Re: How did you get your ingame name?
Stroybat (STROItelny BATtalion) translated into english it means engineering corps.
This name is the subject of local jokes in Russia
For example: Two soldiers of the stroybat replaced excavator,
or: these animals do not give even kalashnikovs, but shovel only
GRU - is russian CIA
stroybat+gru = mutually paragraphs
I just love to laugh

I thought GRU in your name is short for Gruzia, if that is what you ask...
Or are you asking which Georgia i mean? The one where the mustache guy came from.

Re: How did you get your ingame name?
I first started out as Raider08 on Unreal Tournament 2003 my dad made my profile and named me that because I was good at run and gun and raiding bases. I was stuck with that till WaW I had it for a good 3 years after it came out and my old computer died and got a new one and stopped playing WaW and moved on to strategy games like C&C, Supreme Commander, ect... That when I started playing my xbox more and got xbox live and moved to the name Toxic_Lifeform then to Legendary Toxin which I still go by today on xbox, uplay, origin, psn. I got my main name Scrinn from the Scrin in c&c which I orignally made my name on Minecraft as The_Scrin which got morphed as it was taken to Scrinn and I also use Cthulhu as a main name which I got from being a server manager on a long dead gmod community called Maelstrom. Now I go by Scrinn, Cthulhu, Legendary Toxin, and Nestani which is my toon name on WoW

Dancing Mad is my real name.
Dancing Mad is the name of one of my favorite songs from my favorite video game growing up.
I used to use a few alias, but nearly always a song title. When I started with Wolfenstein I was:
DerHass (The Hate) or Kokain (you can guess)
When I played ET and a few other games, I was big into In Flames:
So I played under CloudConnected
and
InjectedPride (From Pinball Map)
I played under InjectedPride forever until I build a new PC years ago and god CODWaW on it. I used that old Alias for a while, but remembered how much I loved Dancing Mad.
I sometimes have that song in a playlist when I play. Both are pretty intense.
So most of my names come from some of the music (I used to hide in servers under ManInABox for the AIC fans) I like and things I think sound cool. Dancing Mad I always thought was such an awesome name especially when you are trying to find your mind.

Re: How did you get your ingame name?
I figured that was what you where referring too in the other post.
Ironically my real life nickname for years was Jager, that came from hanging out in Germany when I was younger. I had a friend that did not know my actuall name until years later. The part that is ironic is that I haven't had the stuff since 2012. The nickname just stuck and lasted.

Re: How did you get your ingame name?
My name is originated one warm spring day, when i usually was in a gym making super series, this is training all the body parts without a chance of resting too much, so my buddies called me every time they saw me: Here comes the Savage!, "¡Aqui viene el Salvaje!" in spanish.
And about the 3X, well this is because i had three biggest loves in my life and every one of them had an X in their name. Axia, Alexandra, Ximena. This is my first and last nickname that i used because it remembers me all the beautiful moments i lived.

I've had a few screen names that didn't mean much back when I was playing other FPS games. Some local guys and I wanted to get serious around the time of Call Of Duty 4. At the time, we'd watch a few old movies, but the movies they'd noticed I was into were mob movies and a known series called Death Wish. They watched some of the movies with me some days and they became entertaining as well as funny, although not a comedy at all. The main character in those movies didn't take no mess.
[PDE]ChaosTheory loves to make fun of the music as well as some of the characters in the movies.
Great topic by the way Rant. You know how to choose them!

Re: How did you get your ingame name?
Hello all again, especially you Lauren since you always get mad at me for being quiet. My game name is pretty stupid really, it's from where I live. Chicago has 50 wards (and thus 50 aldermen, nearly all of which could be replaced by a rubber stamp but I digress) and I'm in the 33rd Ward. Settled on that because the ones I really wanted were taken.
The pic in my sig, incidentally, is a mural that is on the fence of an auto body shop's lot. I drive by it nearly every day and thought it'd be perfect for my sig pic since it had my game name on it. The Google Maps street view of the whole thing is here: https://goo.gl/maps/d6H5gPCjYhx
Oh Jano, I know exactly what it's like to have the same name as your father, because I do too!
Paul Kersey, that final scene in Death Wish 3 has to be the most over the top, ridiculous movie shootout ever in the history of movies! And almost as over the top is the .475 Wildey pistol he used in that movie, which is about as ridiculous a choice for a urban carry gun as can be. Damn that is an awesome movie!

Ahh 33rd, thats not a stupid name at all. There is a hip-hop group called the '5th Ward Boyz' down South. It may surprise you, but there's lots of Wards represented in different places. Ha, yeah about Death Wish 3, that movie got the most laughs here with the people I used to watch it with. I started to post the Wildey magnum clip here, but I thought there was already enough clips posted.
My favorites out of 5 are 1 and 2. I like 3 as well, but that movie could've been a bunch of commercials with all of the scenes it had. I just wish Rockstar Games or someone made a Death Wish video game and even a movie remake. The Warriors would be a good movie remake as well.
Also, good clip Road. Chaos should see that. He may know about the movie because after we told him about Death Wish, he got crazy about Charles Bronson and started watching other movies with him starring in them.
