Hunk_AllocateTempmemory:failed ERROR COD-WAW

Hi guys,

Game: Call of Duty World at War

Every time I press F12 to make a screenshot I am forced back to the main menu and get following error message:

Hunk_AllocateTempmemory:failed on 11059216 bytes (total 10MB, low 10MB, high 0 MB), needs 1113584 more hunk bytes

Does someone know that issue?

How much system memory (RAM) do you have?

I have 32GB DDR4 RAM

PC-Spec:
Win 8.1 x64
I7-6700K
32GB (4x 8192MB) HyperX FURY schwarz DDR4-2666 DIMM CL15-17-17 Quad Kit
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero
EVGA GTX 970 SSC

Try typing this in console: /com_hunkmegs 384

I did a lot of research but couldnt solve the problem. I will reinstall the game

I know it has something to do with memory, but you have plenty of it. It's probably an allocation bug.

Hi Paul.
I now know what the problem is:
Whenever I set the game resolution back to 1920 x 1080 everything works fine.
When I play with 2560 x 1440 the problem comes back.
Somehow the game cant manage that high resolution! I can't make screenshots anymore.
Reinstalling the game doesnt help either

hmm i think i know why, Your pc is good enough to handle but your moniter might be a problem your max res is 1080p so everything when u use nvidia dsr technically u are making 4k running at 1080p so it isnt really 4k. I heard alot problem always occur everything when dsr is enable. Try to avoid it.

my monitors native resolution is 2560 x 1440p (Dell U2515H ). I can't use 1080p, because it will interpolate the picture, which looks really bad.

what about hard disk or ssd space how many u got ?

120GB are free on my main disk (SSD), where COD is installed. Virtual memory is set to 32GB, which is not neccessary as i have 32GB of RAM.
The problem started when I plugged in my 1440p monitor. COD WAW somehow can't handle that high resolution although I can set it in the graphics menu ( and it works)...

Id install Razer Cortex, then change the binds to an easy to remember key for video and Screenshot ;p

I have a 970 and that resolution would push my GPU limits. We also haven't taken in account VRAM on the gpu itself which is where I think the problem is

I don't think so. The GTX970 can handle this old game with ease. COD WAW justneed less then 1 GB VRAM (i monitored):
All settings maxed out + 2560 x1440 . I have an EVGA GTX970 SSC (Super Super Clocked) ACX 2.0

So uh i have checked this issue and its not your hardware issue, its your program issue all i can see u need to edit some settings like paul said but u need to find the correct value im not sure which is perfect. Thank you for the link, it did not help I opened all config files but didn't find any entries concerning hunkmegs

Sure, COD WAW needs 800-900MB of VRAM on PDE2 Kneedeep map (2560x1440)
