"As many of our PC fans are probably aware, the Saints Row 2 port on PC could've been a lot better," Volition has said, going on to detail why Saints Row: The Third should be different. The open-world gang warfare training tool boasts PC-exclusive features include video recording, DirectX 11 support, and more.

"Saints Row: The Third on PC is not a port, and it's our goal here at Volition to prove that to our PC fans," the developer proclaimed in a blog post. While the PC version of SR2 was handled by CD Projekt's Porting House, for 3 it's being developed in-house at Volition, "so that the PC version will be at the same level of playability as the console versions."

"Highlights include AMD Eyefinity support, DX9, DX10, and DX11 support, Crossfire enabled, SLI enabled, advanced depth of field, reflections, and ambient occlusion quality, and, of course, God Rays."

The Steam edition (the retail, and most digital, versions use Steamworks) will offer video recording through the 'Saints Video Record Mode,' letting you share your videos online with your chums. If you're going to be showing off to the world, though, you might want something fancy to wear.

Team Fortress 2 hats are a standard bonus for games on Steam, but Saints Row flips it around: post-launch, you'll get to wear free "oversized bobblehead masks" of TF2 characters as your rampage around Steelport. Other "exclusive customization options" are teased too.

Saints Row: The Third is coming to PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on November 15, published by THQ.
